On another note.. the lead singer, Zachary Francis Condon, originally began "Beirut" as his solo musical project, but then expanded into a band. He was brought up in Newport News, just 1.5 hours east of my hometown, then moved to New Mexico. I heard Santa Fe is a beautiful place... now, it has a beautiful song attached to its psychological spot in my mind. Sweet.

Beirut - Santa Fe
One of those songs that takes you to a fresh clean place away from this congested city. The synth and layers are bliss. The beginning seems morbid, but just watch until the end. Twisted perhaps, yes... but I think the greater message implies that loss of others does not always mean loss of yourself. You are alive... humor in being alive! *Live* The last scene shows that the man still has himself... He still has his sense of humor, he can still live on, and still keep the warmest, best memories of his beloved lady and dog.

Darius - Maliblue
I recently heard this song and it blew my mind in a subtle and quiet way. Tranquil and chill, yet so cleanly structured. The musician's name is Terence N'guyen it seems, making French House in Bordeaux. Couldn't really find much more info on him, but have a feeling that he might become more popular if he keeps this up. If hippies ever formed an army, this would be their marching song. Warm, fuzzy 60s borderline 70s with a distinctive edge.
